Vision Design Engineering has extensive experience in site designs of public and private developments including schools, hospitals, medical office building complexes, army health facilities, U.S. embassies, public road improvements, commercial developments, residential developments, wetland mitigation, and parks. Typical design components include earthwork grading, erosion and sediment control, roadways, sidewalks, parking, sanitary sewer, water/fire service, and stormwater systems. In addition to design responsibilities, VDE also has experience in construction management tasks.
MSI Surfaces
Clark County, Nevada
Provided civil engineering design for the ground-up development of the MSI Surfaces facility located at the intersection of Jones Boulevard and Badura Avenue in Clark County, Nevada. The project included full site development and extensive public infrastructure improvements, including half-street improvements along two existing frontages and the construction of one new half-street roadway section.
Responsibilities included site grading, drainage and stormwater design, water and sanitary sewer utility design, erosion and sediment control, and coordination of significant public utility and roadway improvements. The scope also encompassed design of major public drainage infrastructure and major public water system upgrades. Prepared construction documents and coordinated with local agencies to achieve compliance with Clark County development standards and facilitate successful permitting and construction.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Civil design for the ground-up development of a 92,000 sf commercial warehouse building on a 5 acre lot. Project included development of the main building, loading docks, parking lots, shared access drive, and public street widening/improvements. Civil scope consisted of site layout, vehicular circulation, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control measures. Prepared civil construction documents, report, and coordinated with the project team and local agencies to support the development while meeting municipal design standards and permitting requirements.
Waimea Middle School Play Court
Waimea, Hawaii
Civil design for a new covered outdoor play court structure. The approximately 9,000 sf covering structure includes multiple recreational courts for the middle school students. Scope of civil design included site layout, pavement design, grading, drainage, erosion control, and utility design. Project was for the DOE and involved close coordination with the state.
Taco Bell / Pizza Hut
Kaneohe, Hawaii
Civil design for the redevelopment of two existing restaurant buildings into a single combined Taco Bell/Pizza Hut facility. Provided complete site civil engineering design including site planning, grading, drainage, stormwater management, water and sewer utility improvements, parking and ADA design, erosion control, utility coordination, permitting, and construction support. Stormwater design included an underground infiltration system that has a 6,700 cubic feet storage capacity. Successfully delivered a modernized commercial redevelopment that improved site operations, customer circulation, and infrastructure.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Civil design for the ground-up development of a 14,000 sf commercial warehouse building on a 1 acre lot. Project included development of the main building, equipment yards, parking lots, shared access drive, and public street widening/improvements. Part of the public improvements included a new bus turnout within state of Nevada DOT jurisdiction. Civil scope consisted of site layout, vehicular circulation, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control measures. Prepared civil construction documents, report, and coordinated with the project team and local agencies to support the development while meeting municipal design standards and permitting requirements.

Project included development of a multi-unit commercial building, loading docks, truck court, parking lots, shared access drive, and public street improvements. Part of the public improvements included a new multi-use trail associated with overall master planned directives. Civil scope consisted of site layout, vehicular circulation, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control measures. Civil design for the 90,000 sf expansion of a 131,000 sf commercial warehouse building on a 11 acre lot. Project included development of an expansion to the existing building where manufacturing and distribution operations take place. Associated with the expansion was design of parking lots, access drive, utilities, grading, and drainage improvements. Multiple jurisdictions were coordinated with for approval of civil components. Civil scope consisted of site layout, vehicular circulation, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control measures. Kapa'a Elementary School Library
Kapa'a, Kauai
Construction management services for the Department of Education on a new 7,400 square foot library facility. Project includes relocation of 3 portable classrooms currently occupying the site, construction of the new library facility, and associated site features. Construction cost estimated at $4,513,194.
HEALTHCARE & GOVERNMENTAL
US Army Public Health Command Lab
Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland
Civil design for a new medical research lab, central utility plant, and associated site improvements for the Army’s Public Health Command division. Project sited on an undeveloped, roughly 30-acre site adjacent to Chesapeake Bay and containing areas of existing wetlands. Significant utility, site, and grading infrastructure needed for lab functions and to overcome site constraints. Extensive BIM modeling developed for the project design.
Providence Office Park 2 & 3 Medical Office Buildings
Portland, Oregon
Civil design for two phases of new medical office buildings and associated site/parking improvements. Project included public street frontage widening and improvements, ground parking, parking structure, reconstruction and reconfiguration of private street, public sewer main improvements, roundabout, and courtyard area for neighborhood use. Integrated stormwater design into courtyard amenities with roof drain fed fountain and treatment swale used for aesthetic water feature.
Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Additions
Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Civil design for Emergency Department improvement, Behavioral Health addition, Mother-Baby addition, and associated site improvements. Project included parking/site improvements and additions, utility reroutes and services, stormwater improvements, and grading. The project was administered through USACE and was held to federal standards and project processes. Unique underground utility solutions resulted from existing system layouts and proposed locations of additions.
Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital Redevelopment
Portland, Oregon
Civil design for the large scale, multi-phase project of replacing the Kaiser Sunnyside hospital. Project included demolition of existing facilities, construction of roads, parking, central utility plant, equipment yards, and new state-of-the-art hospital complex. A multi-phase construction is required to keep the existing hospital online while the new facility is being built.
